Let guests vote for their favorite song

Let guests vote, set an optional deadline, then lock in the People’s choice winner.

What you will achieve

Your guests vote for their favorite song and everyone sees the same winner.

Before you start

  • Guest voting must be on. If Voting is missing from On the day, choose “Open voting” on the line “Let guests vote for their favorite song” (shown on On the day and on Songs once two songs are ready), or turn on the “Guest voting” switch in On the day › Rehearsal.
  • Guests can vote only once the event is live, and only if their invitation allows it: “Vote only” or “Vote + contribute”.

On the web

    Open your event, then go to On the day › Voting.

    If you want a time limit, set the “Voting deadline” and click “Save deadline”. Leave it empty to keep voting open until you finalize.

    Ask guests to vote from their guest page. They see the live results there, and so does the big screen.

    When voting should end, click “Finalize results”, read the message and confirm.

    The winning song appears as the People’s choice. If songs are tied, the earliest-created song wins.

Expected result

Voting is closed, and guests see the same winning song on their guest page.

Important

Finalizing cannot be undone: it closes voting and locks the winner. Check the deadline and the songs before you confirm.

Fix a problem

Problem: A guest can’t vote.

What to doCheck that the event is live, the deadline hasn’t passed and the guest’s invitation isn’t “View only”. Only approved songs can receive votes.

Problem: The deadline has passed but there is no winner.

What to doA deadline only stops new votes. Choose “Finalize results” to pick the winner. Ending the event also picks it automatically.

Problem: I chose “Close voting” and there is no winner.

What to do“Close voting” only pauses voting; it doesn’t pick a winner. While votes are waiting, Voting stays in On the day: open it and choose “Finalize results”. Ending the event also picks the winner automatically.

Problem: Finalizing shows no winner.

What to doNo one voted for an approved song. Check that guests could vote before you end the event.
