Requesting deletion

You can delete your account yourself, without contacting anyone and without installing anything: open Settings, then Privacy, then Delete account, and confirm with your password and your second factor if you use one. That path exists in the same place on the Sonize website and in the iOS and Android apps.

If you cannot sign in, never had an account, or want data held about you as an event guest erased, email privacy@sonize.io from the address concerned and say what you want deleted. We verify who you are before acting, and we answer within one month of receiving the request (Article 12(3) GDPR); a complex request can take two further months, in which case we tell you inside the first month.

A confirmed deletion is held for 72 hours before it runs, so a request made by mistake can be cancelled from the same screen. After that it is irreversible. Sonize then instructs every processor holding a copy of your data to erase it and tracks each of those instructions to a 30-day deadline.

What changes

Personal identifiers are deleted or anonymized where possible. Account-linked media, sessions, social graph rows, push tokens, and app activity are removed or scrubbed. Invoices, audit entries, moderation records, security records, and fraud prevention records may be retained when required for legal obligations or claims.

Subscriptions and credits

Deleting your account also ends what you pay for. A subscription bought on the Sonize website is cancelled as part of the deletion, so it does not renew afterwards and you do not have to cancel it separately. A subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play cannot be cancelled by Sonize: cancel it with Apple or Google before you delete your account, or it keeps billing you.

Unused credits are lost. Welcome credits, credits included with a plan, and credits you bought stop being usable once the account is erased; they are not transferable, not converted into money, and not refunded, because erasure is something you ask for rather than a failure on our side. If you have paid for credits you have not spent, use them or exercise any refund right you have before you confirm the deletion. This does not affect the 14-day right of withdrawal, the legal guarantee of conformity, or the automatic return of credits reserved for a generation that failed through a Sonize or provider error — those are set out in the Commercial Terms. Invoices are kept for as long as tax law requires.

If other people are still active on your account, the subscription and the credit balance belong to the account rather than to you personally: they stay with it, and only your own access ends.

After deletion

Deleted accounts cannot be used to sign in. Some public links may stop resolving or show unavailable states after processing completes.
