Run karaoke at your event
Add singers and their songs, then call each singer up in turn from the live console.
What you will achieve
You run every singer’s turns, in order, from one screen.
Before you start
- Use an organizer, co-organizer or stage manager account for the event, and songs created in Sonize that are ready and have lyrics.
- Karaoke must be on for the event. On the web, open On the day, then Rehearsal, and turn on Karaoke under What each setting changes. In the app, open Settings from the event’s ⋯ menu and turn on Let singers request karaoke turns under Participation rules.
On the web

Open your event, choose On the day, then Live console. In the Queue card, switch to Karaoke turns.

Under Singer roster, type a Singer name and choose Add singer. Use Pause singer or Withdraw singer for someone who can’t sing.

Under Add a created-song turn, pick a Singer and a Created song, then choose Add turn.

Choose Rebuild turn order when your singers change. Each active singer sings once per round, and the turn on stage and the next one stay where they are.

When a singer’s turn comes, choose Start turn, then Complete turn when they finish. Use Move to next round or Cancel turn only when you need to.
Expected result
The live console shows the turn on stage and the next one, and every active singer’s turns are in order.
Important
Never let two devices play the show at once. Before you take over playback, make sure the other device has stopped.
Fix a problem
Problem: Karaoke turns doesn’t appear in the live console.
What to doKaraoke is off for this event. Turn it on as shown in Before you start, then open the live console again.
Problem: The device check lists problems, or says the event changed.
What to doFix each problem it lists, then tap Check this device again. The phone works as a remote control over the internet: if the connection drops, the show can’t go on from it.
Problem: Another device is playing the show.
What to doAsk the person on that device to tap Stop playing from this device. Use Take over playback only once you’re sure that device has stopped and isn’t responding.
Problem: A turn can’t be added.
What to doCheck that the singer is Active, that the song is ready and has lyrics, and that the singer doesn’t already have too many songs waiting. Then refresh and try again.
