Set up and review the Song Booth

Let guests create songs during your event, choose how many, and listen to each song before the room hears it.

What you will achieve

You decide how many songs guests can create and which ones are played.

Before you start

  • Without a pass, the Song Booth is a one-song demo: guests can create one song in total. An Event Pass, or a Studio plan or higher, opens it for the whole event.
  • With an Event Pass, guest songs don’t use your credits. With a plan only, each guest song uses your credits.

On the web

  1. 1

Open your event, choose On the day, then open the Song Booth. If it isn’t listed, open Rehearsal and turn on Song Booth under What each setting changes.

  2. 2

Turn on Accept songs from the Song Booth so guests can create songs.

  3. 3

Set the Song limit. It is one total for the whole event, shared by all guests, not a limit per guest.

  4. 4

Leave Auto-approve requests off if you want to listen to each song first, then choose Save Song Booth.

  5. 5

Under Song Booth moderation, choose Approve to let a song be played, or Hide to keep it out. Play now plays an approved song on the big screen.

  6. 6

Under Participation rules, choose whether guests write their own dedication or pick from a menu you prepare, then choose Save participation rules.

Expected result

Guests can create songs up to your limit, and only the songs you approved are played.

Important

With Auto-approve requests on, guest songs are played without anyone listening first. Turn it on only if that’s fine for your event.

Fix a problem

Problem: Guests can create only one song.

What to doThe Song Booth is still a one-song demo. Buy an Event Pass for this event, or move to a Studio plan or higher, then set your Song limit again.

Problem: Guests are told the Song Booth is full or out of credits.

What to doRaise the Song limit if you can, or add guest songs with an Event Pass. Without a pass, add credits to your account: each guest song uses them.

Problem: A song shows Ready but isn’t played.

What to doReady only means the song is finished. It must also be approved: open Song Booth moderation and choose Approve.

Problem: A song shows Failed.

What to doOpen the Songs tab to retry it. Check your credits and the guest’s words first.
