Pair a TV

Connect the Sonize TV app to your account with the code shown on your TV.

What you will achieve

You can play your songs and see the lyrics on the big screen.

Before you start

  • Install and open the Sonize TV app on your TV. It works on TVs and streaming boxes with Google TV or Android TV, and on Apple TV.
  • Sign in to Sonize on your phone or computer. The TV joins the account you approve it from.

On the web

    Open Settings, then the Sign-in & security tab, and choose Pair a TV. You can also type the address shown on the TV into your browser.

    Enter the eight-character code shown on the TV.

  3. 3

    Check the details that appear: they should name Sonize TV and your TV model, with an approximate location and the time.

  4. 4

    Choose Approve TV.

Expected result

Your phone or computer says TV approved, and the TV shows Connected with your songs.

Important

Never share a TV pairing code. Approve only a code you can see on the TV in front of you.

Fix a problem

Problem: The approval screen says the code did not work.

What to doCheck that you typed it exactly as shown. A code lasts 10 minutes and works only once: if the TV shows Code expired, select New code and enter the new one.

Problem: The details name a TV you don’t recognize.

What to doDon’t approve it. Only enter a code that you can see on the TV in front of you.

Problem: You are asked to sign in.

What to doSign in, then come back to the approval screen. Your code stays filled in.

Problem: Your TV isn’t a smart TV, or it can’t install Sonize TV.

What to doPlug a streaming device into the TV’s HDMI port, such as a Google TV device (Google TV Streamer or Chromecast with Google TV) or an Apple TV, and install Sonize TV on it. Sonize can’t cast songs from your phone, so an older Chromecast without a remote won’t work.
