Block, report or appeal
Stop seeing someone, tell our team about a problem, or contest the suspension of your account.
What you will achieve
You stop seeing a person, our team reviews your report, or your appeal is sent.
Before you start
- Block someone to stop seeing each other’s content. Report something so a person at Sonize can review it. Appeal if your account has been restricted or if one of your songs was removed from sharing.
On the web
- 1
To block someone, open their profile, click More actions (the ··· button), choose Block, then confirm.
- 2
To report a song, playlist, comment or profile, open its menu, choose Report, pick a reason, add details if useful, then click Submit report. The link to the content is attached for you, and the report comes from your account. Sending it confirms in good faith that it is accurate and complete.
- 3
To unblock someone or follow your reports, open Settings and choose the Safety tab.
- 4
If sign-in shows Account restricted, read the reason. Under Submit an appeal, explain your situation in at least 10 characters, then click Submit appeal.
Expected result
The person you blocked appears under Blocked users. Your report appears under Your reports with the status Open. Your appeal shows Pending review.
Important
A person at Sonize reviews every report and appeal and decides any sanction, which stays in place until it is lifted. An appeal is free. You can also take a decision to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body or to a court. Never include passwords, codes or payment details. If someone is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number.
Fix a problem
Problem: None of the reasons fits, or I can no longer see the content.
What to doUse the content notice form at sonize.io/legal/dmca, which works without an account, or write to [email protected]. Give the link to the content and a short, factual explanation. Use the form for child sexual abuse, terrorist content or an intimate image shared without consent; a child-safety notice can be sent anonymously.
Problem: The appeal form says an appeal already exists.
What to doYou can send one appeal per suspension. Sign in again to see its status: Pending review, Upheld or Overturned.
Problem: The appeal form does not appear.
What to doFor your account, it appears when you sign in, whichever sign-in method you use. If your whole workspace is suspended, its owner is sent to our Trust & Safety contact form instead. For a song, open the song: if it was removed from sharing, its page shows the reason and Appeal this decision.
Problem: I can still see a person I blocked.
What to doRefresh the page or reopen the app. If you can still interact with them, contact support and say where it happened.
