Upload audio and confirm your rights
Add a song you already have to your library. You must own it or have permission to use it.
What you will achieve
You can add a finished track of your own to your Sonize library.
Before you start
- Use an AAC, M4A, MP3, OGG, WAV, or WebM audio file of 50 MB or less.
- Make sure you own the rights or have permission to use this audio, and that your email address is confirmed.
On the web
- 1
Choose Library in the menu, then Upload at the top of the page, then Choose an audio file.
- 2
Select the audio file on your computer.
- 3
Check the Song title, then tick the box confirming you own the rights or have permission.
- 4
Choose Add to library and wait for the message Uploaded to your library.
Expected result
The song appears in your library. Only you can hear it until you choose to share it.
Important
Only tick the box if you own the rights or have permission. Uploading someone else’s music without permission can lead to its removal or to action on your account.
Fix a problem
Problem: Sonize says the file type isn’t supported.
What to doUse an AAC, M4A, MP3, OGG, WAV, or WebM file. Renaming a file doesn’t change its format: export it again from your music software.
Problem: Sonize says the file is too large.
What to doExport or compress the audio so it is 50 MB or less, then choose the new file.
Problem: Add to library stays greyed out, or the upload fails.
What to doEnter a title and tick the rights box. Check your connection, then try again. If Sonize asks you to verify your email address, do that first.
Problem: The lyrics don’t show while the song plays.
What to doOpen the song and choose Sync lyrics in the lyrics section. It’s free and can take a few minutes. If the song has no lyrics yet, its audio is sent to OpenAI to write and time them; it is not used to train AI models.
