Gift a song

Send one of your songs as a gift, inside Sonize or by email, with a personal note, now or on the day you choose.

What you will achieve

The person you choose receives your song as a gift.

Before you start

  • You can gift a finished song that you created. To make a new song for the occasion, choose Create one now in Gifts, then come back to send the gift once the song is ready.

On the web

    Open Gifts in the menu, choose Gift an existing song and select a finished song.

    Under Delivery, choose Inside Sonize to send it to someone on Sonize, or External email to send it to an email address.

    For Inside Sonize, search for the person and select them. They will find the song in Library, under Received songs.

    For External email, enter the email address and choose who can open the gift: Only the verified recipient, or Anyone with the link.

    For an email gift, choose when it arrives: Now, Tonight, Tomorrow, or Pick a time.

    Choose an occasion and write a note if you like, then click Send song gift.

Expected result

A confirmation appears. Email gifts are listed in Gift history, under Sent, with their status, such as Scheduled, Delivered or Opened.

Important

Check the email address before sending. A gift for Anyone with the link can be forwarded: whoever has the link can listen until it expires or you remove access.

Fix a problem

Problem: Send song gift is greyed out.

What to doRead the message under the button. You need a song, a recipient or a valid email address, a choice of who can open it, and a delivery time in the future.

Problem: Inside Sonize doesn’t work for this person.

What to doThey may only accept songs from their connections, or review songs before receiving them. Send the gift by External email instead.

Problem: The recipient can’t open the gift.

What to doWith Only the verified recipient, they must sign in with the email address you entered, once it is verified. A link no longer works after it expires or after you remove access.

Problem: I want to stop a gift.

What to doOpen Gift history, then Sent. Choose Cancel for a scheduled gift, or Remove access for a gift that was already delivered.
