Disable two-factor authentication

Turn off the extra code asked for when you sign in.

What you will achieve

Signing in no longer asks for a code from your authenticator app.

Before you start

  • Have your authenticator app at hand: you need the code it shows right now.

On the web

  1. 1

Open Settings, then the Sign-in & security tab.

  2. 2

In Two-factor authentication, click Disable two-factor to open that section.

  3. 3

Enter the current code from your authenticator app, then click Disable two-factor.

Expected result

Sonize confirms that two-factor authentication is off. Your recovery codes are deleted, your other devices are signed out, and you receive a confirmation email.

Important

Without two-factor authentication, only your password protects your account. Use a strong password you don’t use anywhere else, and check your active sessions afterwards.

Fix a problem

Problem: Your code is refused.

What to doEnter the newest code from your authenticator app before it changes. Recovery codes are not accepted here. After 5 wrong codes, wait 15 minutes.

Problem: You no longer have your authenticator app.

What to doYou can’t turn off two-factor authentication without it. Contact Sonize support to recover your account.
