Authoritative version: French. If versions differ, a consumer may rely on the version more favourable to them; for anyone else, the authoritative version prevails.

Scope and seller
These Commercial Terms govern paid Sonize subscriptions, credit packs, event passes, and other digital services sold by SONIZE SAS, registered at 5 rue Jean-Marie David, 35740 Pacé, France under SIREN 107390304, SIRET 10739030400015, RCS Rennes 107390304, RNE 107390304, VAT identifier or status FR71107390304. Contact: contact@sonize.io, +33230964996. The order summary shown before payment identifies the purchased service and price. Website purchases are offered only in the countries where Sonize sells; free features remain available in the other countries where Sonize is offered.
Prices, taxes, and payment
Consumer offers show the payable total including applicable taxes before the order is confirmed. Business-only offers may show clearly labelled tax-exclusive prices; the tax and total are specified before commitment. Business-only offers are reserved for customers buying for their trade, business, craft or profession. At checkout the buyer declares that the purchase is for their business and gives the business name. Stripe processes website payments. Subscription duration, renewal, credit quantities and expiry, and any discount conditions are shown in the offer. A paid order is confirmed by email with the applicable contract text and immediate-performance request; a bare invoice link is not the contract confirmation. For professional customers, a purchase paid by card is paid in full at the order, and an invoice issued with a payment term is payable within the period it states, which is 30 days from the invoice date unless another period is agreed. No discount is granted for early payment. Late payment gives rise, from the day after the due date and without any reminder, to interest at the European Central Bank's most recent refinancing rate plus 10 percentage points and to a fixed indemnity of EUR 40 for recovery costs, plus any proven recovery costs above that amount (Articles L441-10 and D441-5 of the French Commercial Code).
If you switch on automatic top-up, Sonize charges your saved card for the credit pack you chose each time your balance falls below the threshold you set, at most three times in 24 hours and for no more than EUR 200 in a calendar month. If a charge keeps failing, automatic top-up is switched off and we email you. You can switch it off at any time on the Credits & plan screen, on the website or in the mobile app; it is separate from any subscription and stays on if you cancel one.
Sonize may test different prices for the same offer. Which price you see is chosen at random for your account, not based on your profile, behaviour or location, and it stays the same for your account for the duration of the test. An offer that is part of a price test is labelled as such, and the price shown before payment is the price you pay. Event Passes and event top-ups are never part of a price test.
In-app purchases through Apple and Google
Website purchases are sold by SONIZE SAS and processed through Stripe. The order states the total price, duration, renewal, cancellation and withdrawal information before payment. The Commercial Terms apply. For App Store and Google Play purchases, the order and applicable store agreement identify the seller and payment role in your territory. Apple handles App Store refund requests. For Google Play orders, you may contact Google or Sonize; Sonize can refund its own Play orders where applicable. Store procedures do not remove statutory remedies against the responsible seller.

Subscriptions and cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically for the interval shown at checkout until you cancel. There is no minimum term and no cancellation fee. Monthly plan credits you have not used are removed when the subscription ends; credits bought in credit packs are kept. If a renewal payment fails, your plan stays active for 14 days while payment is retried; if it still fails, the account returns to the free plan.
A subscription bought on the Sonize website is cancelled inside Sonize itself: open Credits & plan and use Cancel subscription. It takes one confirmation, needs no contact with us, and takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — access continues until then, and you can undo the cancellation from the same screen at any point before it. The Stripe customer portal is an alternative route where your plan offers one.
For an App Store subscription, use Apple's settings: your name, then Subscriptions. For a Google Play subscription, use Play Store: your profile, Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Sonize's current self-service cancellation and account-deletion flow does not cancel these store subscriptions. The Credits & plan screen links to the relevant store. You can also contact contact@sonize.io for assistance; this does not restrict your mandatory consumer rights.
In every case contact@sonize.io stays open as a fallback: tell us you want to cancel and we record the request on the day it reaches us. You can also cancel a subscription without signing in, with the “Cancel contracts here” link at the bottom of our pages and in the account menu, which opens /cancel-contract: we confirm by email straight away that we have received your cancellation, with its date and time, and the contract then ends on the date you chose or, if you chose none, at the earliest possible date.
Two consumer rules apply on top of that. If you are a consumer on an annual plan, which renews by tacit agreement, we tell you in writing — no earlier than three months and no later than one month before the end of the period in which you may object to renewal — the last date on which you can object (art. L215-1 of the French Code de la consommation). A monthly plan can be cancelled at any time before the next month begins, and we remind you of this once a year. If that notice does not reach you, you may end the renewed subscription free of charge at any time from the renewal date, and sums paid after that date are reimbursed within 30 days, less the amount corresponding to the service actually supplied. And because the subscription was concluded online, the cancellation route above is the permanent, easily accessible electronic route the law requires, taking no more steps than subscribing did (art. L215-1-1).
As required by Article L215-4 of the French Consumer Code (Code de la consommation), the following provisions are reproduced in full. This is a translation for information; only the French text of these articles is official and it prevails.
Article L215-1. For service contracts concluded for a fixed term with a tacit renewal clause, the professional service provider shall inform the consumer in writing, by dedicated personal letter or email, no earlier than three months and no later than one month before the end of the period in which renewal may be refused, of the possibility of not renewing the contract concluded with a tacit renewal clause. This information, given in clear and comprehensible terms, shall state, in a conspicuous box, the final date for non-renewal. Where this information has not been sent to the consumer in accordance with the first paragraph, the consumer may terminate the contract free of charge at any time from the renewal date. Advances paid after the last renewal date or, for open-ended contracts, after the date on which the initial fixed-term contract was converted, shall in that case be refunded within thirty days of the termination date, after deduction of the sums corresponding to performance of the contract up to that date. The provisions of this article apply without prejudice to those that by law subject certain contracts to specific rules on consumer information. By way of exception to the first paragraph of this article, for contracts for the supply of a television service within the meaning of Article 2 of Law No. 86-1067 of 30 September 1986 on freedom of communication and for contracts for the supply of on-demand audiovisual media services, the consumer may terminate the contract free of charge at any time from the first renewal, where the consumer moves home or the composition of their tax household changes.
Article L215-1-1. Where a contract was concluded by electronic means, or was concluded by another means and the professional, on the day the consumer terminates it, offers consumers the possibility of concluding contracts by electronic means, termination shall be made possible by that same means. To that end, the professional shall make available to the consumer a free functionality allowing the consumer to carry out, by electronic means, the notification and the steps necessary to terminate the contract. When the consumer gives notice of termination, the professional shall confirm receipt of the notification and inform the consumer, on a durable medium and within a reasonable time, of the date on which the contract ends and of the effects of termination. A decree shall lay down in particular the technical arrangements that guarantee identification of the consumer and easy, direct and permanent access to the functionality referred to in the second paragraph, such as how it is presented and used. It shall determine the information to be provided by the consumer.
Article L215-2. The provisions of this chapter, with the exception of Article L. 215-1-1, do not apply to operators of drinking-water and sanitation services.
Article L215-3. The provisions of this chapter also apply to contracts concluded between professionals and non-professionals.
Article L241-3. Where the professional has not made the refund under the conditions laid down in Article L. 215-1, the sums due shall bear interest at the legal rate.
Credits, delivery, and failed generations
Credits are digital service units and are not cash. Their price, validity, and consumption are shown before purchase or generation. Credits reserved for a generation that fails because of a Sonize or provider error are automatically returned. A successful order supplies access to one generated song under whichever license in the Terms of Service applies to the plan or pass the song was created under; it does not sell an exclusive copyright or exclusive authorship in the song.
You can give credits by entering the recipient’s email address or Sonize username and paying by card or with credit-pack credits; monthly plan credits cannot be given. Only the holder of that verified address can claim the gift. Funded credit gifts have no claim deadline. Where Sonize offers business vouchers, the holder of a funded gift code can redeem it once, without a time limit. Withdrawal, lawful cancellation and other statutory remedies remain available. For a gift previously marked expired, contact contact@sonize.io so we can reconcile any credits already returned to the sender and review your rights.
If someone signs up through a link you shared and then makes a first paid purchase, you and that person each receive 10 credits. Free and gift-funded orders do not count, one member can receive this bonus for at most 25 sign-ups, a bonus that looks fraudulent is held for review, and both bonuses are withdrawn if that purchase is refunded within 14 days. We tell you when a bonus is paid, and show how many people joined through your link and how many bonuses are still pending, never who they are.
Right of withdrawal and refunds
Where the consumer withdrawal right applies, you have 14 days from the conclusion of the contract to withdraw without giving a reason. Use /withdrawal, available without signing in, or send an unambiguous statement to contact@sonize.io or the postal address in the Legal Notice. The online form allows you to review and confirm the declaration; we acknowledge it by email with its receipt date and time. Ordinary subscription cancellation and account deletion are different actions and do not replace withdrawal.
Before payment, checkout records your express request for immediate supply. For credit packs only, it also records your acknowledgement of the loss of withdrawal rights for credits once used to create a song; unused credits remain refundable on withdrawal. If credits are treated as a service, the same result applies: you pay only for the credits used, in proportion to the credits bought (Article L221-25). Gifts, the Chanson cadeau and automatic credit top-ups retain the full right of withdrawal. Withdrawing from a Chanson cadeau ends its benefits for that song. Your receipt confirms the request and acknowledgement. Mandatory conformity rights remain unaffected. You keep the 14-day right of withdrawal when you request an immediate subscription start. Any deduction is based only on elapsed service time as a proportion of the billing period, independently of credits used. An Event Pass or event top-up is a contract for a digital service. Its main performance is the generation, at your guests' request, of up to the number of guest songs stated in your order for one event; the guest page, voting and karaoke are accessories to it and are not priced separately. The price of one guest song is the price paid divided by that number and is shown before you order. You keep the 14-day right of withdrawal. At checkout you expressly ask for the service to start before the end of that period and acknowledge that you will no longer have the right of withdrawal once the contract has been fully performed. If you withdraw while no guest song has been generated under the purchase, you are refunded in full. Otherwise you owe an amount in proportion to what has been supplied up to your declaration, compared with everything the contract covers: price paid × guest songs generated ÷ guest songs covered, rounded down to the cent; the rest is refunded (Article L221-25 of the French Consumer Code). Once every guest song covered has been generated, that amount equals the price paid. Not counted: a song whose generation failed, a song generated before the purchase, and the Wedding pass's Chanson cadeau for a song you create. A song deleted after it was generated stays counted. Guest songs are counted against the pass first, then against each top-up in the order they were bought. Withdrawal ends the purchased event benefits; songs already generated remain yours. A pass or top-up ordered while the checkout page stated a full refund even after use keeps that rule.
We reimburse amounts due within 14 days after being informed of withdrawal, using the original payment method unless you expressly agree to another method without fees. Credits do not replace a monetary refund without your agreement and a lawful basis. Store purchases follow the payment and refund routes above; mandatory rights remain available. For a purchase made in the App Store or Google Play, the withdrawal rules described here for website purchases are applied by the store under its own terms; if the store refuses a withdrawal you are entitled to, write to contact@sonize.io and we will settle it with you. Statutory consequences of late reimbursement apply.
The day of contract conclusion is not counted. The period ends at the end of its final civil day and is extended when applicable law requires it, including a final Saturday, Sunday or public holiday under French law. More favourable mandatory local rights and statutory extensions remain available. Sending the statement before the applicable deadline is sufficient. French rules include Articles L221-18, L221-19, L221-24 and L221-25 of the Consumer Code.
Legal guarantee of conformity
A subjective artistic preference alone does not establish a defect. It does not exclude statutory remedies where content or service fails agreed or legally required characteristics.
One-off supply — a credit pack, a pass, or content delivered once. You have two years from supply to enforce the guarantee if a lack of conformity appears. For the first year you only have to show that the defect exists, not when it appeared.
Continuous supply — a subscription. You are entitled to the guarantee for any lack of conformity appearing throughout the contractual supply period: one month for a monthly subscription and one year for an annual one; it continues through each renewed period. Throughout that period you only have to show that the defect exists, not when it appeared.
In both cases the guarantee obliges us to supply every update needed to keep the content or service in conformity, and gives you the right to have it brought into conformity without undue delay after your request, free of charge and without major inconvenience to you. You may obtain a price reduction and keep the content or service, or end the contract and be reimbursed in full against giving it up, where we refuse to bring it into conformity, where doing so is unjustifiably delayed, where it cannot be done without cost to you, where it causes you major inconvenience, or where the lack of conformity persists despite our attempt. You are also entitled to a price reduction or to termination straight away, without asking for conformity first, where the defect is serious enough to justify it. Where the lack of conformity is minor, you may cancel the contract only if the contract provides for no payment of a price. Any period during which the content or service is unavailable while being brought back into conformity suspends the remaining guarantee. These rights arise from articles L. 224-25-1 to L. 224-25-31 of the Code de la consommation. A trader who obstructs the guarantee in bad faith incurs a civil fine of up to €300,000, which may be raised to 10% of average annual turnover (art. L. 242-18-1). You also have the legal guarantee against hidden defects under articles 1641 to 1649 of the Code civil, for two years from discovering the defect, giving a price reduction if you keep the content or service or a full refund against giving it up.

Applicable law and contact
NOTICE TO QUÉBEC CONSUMERS: the following French-law clause does not apply to you. Your contract is governed by Québec law and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. French law applies without depriving consumers of mandatory protections in their country of residence. Questions can be sent to contact@sonize.io. After first contacting Sonize, an eligible consumer may refer an unresolved dispute to consumer mediator Médiation Cmfm, postal address 19 avenue d'Italie - 75013 Paris, at https://mediationcmfm.eu/.
Language of these Commercial Terms. These Commercial Terms are written in French, which is their reference version, and are translated into other languages. If the versions differ, a consumer may rely on the version more favourable to them; for anyone else, the French version prevails.
International purchases and local consumer rights
These provisions supplement the Commercial Terms and Terms of Service and prevail where they conflict for the consumers concerned. Mandatory rights depend on your circumstances and applicable national, state or provincial law; your card issuer, IP address or chosen language does not alone determine them. French-law references do not exclude local rights.
The currency and total payable are identified before payment. References to euro prices and VAT in the price annex do not mean that French VAT applies to every international sale. Applicable taxes depend on the transaction. Your payment provider may separately charge currency-conversion fees.
United States and Canada: mandatory rules on automatic renewal, consent, notices, cancellation, refunds and warranties remain applicable. A price change cannot alter a period already paid for and remains subject to any legally required notice and consent. These terms impose no mandatory arbitration, class-action waiver or waiting period before exercising a legal remedy. French mediation does not replace your competent courts or local complaint routes. A 14-day statutory withdrawal right is not a separate worldwide satisfaction guarantee.
Purchased credit-pack value does not expire, and funded credit gifts and vouchers have no claim deadline. The statement that credits are not cash does not restrict mandatory gift-card, cash-redemption or refund rights. Contact contact@sonize.io to exercise those rights.
Québec consumers: no exclusion or limitation of liability applies to Sonize's own acts or those of its representatives. Mandatory guarantees, distance-contract cancellation and chargeback rights remain available. Unilateral changes are subject to section 11.2 of the Consumer Protection Act, including its restrictions on essential terms and its notice and cancellation rights; a notice alone does not authorize a prohibited change. Where the Charter of the French language requires it, you must receive the French contract before expressly choosing another language. If the versions diverge, you may invoke either according to your interests, notwithstanding the general French-priority statement.
For business customers, the French late-payment provisions apply only to the extent permitted by applicable mandatory law.
